On the outside, the XUV700 featured LED headlamps, C-shaped LED DRLs, two-piece LED tail lights, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, roof rails, and a shark-fin antenna. The model is available in four colour options, namely Everest White, Midnight Black, Dazzling Silver, Electric Blue, and Red Rage.
Inside, the SUV comes equipped with two 10.25-inch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, AdrenoX connected car technology, drive modes, a 360-degree camera, ADAS, dual-zone climate control, EPB, wireless charging, and seven airbags. The XUV700 has a seating capacity of five and seven occupants.
The MX Series is available with either a 195bhp/380Nm 2.0-litre Turbo GDi mStallion petrol engine or a 153bhp/360Nm 2.2-litre Commonrail Turbo diesel mHawk engine; both of which only use a six-speed manual transmission.
Meanwhile, the AX Series uses the familiar 195bhp/380Nm 2.0-litre Turbo GDi mStallion petrol engine but this time around is available with both a manual and an automatic gearbox. Interestingly, although the 2.2-litre Commonrail Turbo diesel mHawk engine makes 182bhp, the torque output varies. While manual transmission makes 420Nm, the automatic produces a considerably higher 450Nm. Both the engines have been updated to comply with the BS6 Phase 2 norms.
The XUV700 has scored a five-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test.
The Mahindra XUV700 rivals the Tata Safari and Harrier, the MG Hector and Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar.
